Labor Wins!

Well a new day has dawned, The starts of new era in the life of Australia and although we will have to a few months to wait till Kevin Rudd Takes Over, the effects are flowing through already in seems….
It is being called a landslide victory for the Federal Labor Party, Prime Minister John Howard and the Liberal have been Sacked yep Fired …
Its is funny how many people at there who voted Liberal are still aruguing telling us the sky is falling and the world is coming to an end...fortunately they are as few and the votes counted for them......

An Atmosphere of hope and expectation seems to be filling the Australian Public. The Liberal Party has always been seen as the Businessmans, accountants and economy Party, where as the Labor Party as the Working Mans, social conscience, Fair Go party… And that is what the Australian People have decided is more Important…
The Greens have increased their ranking with huge swings in votes to them.. none more so than in Tasmania where the Pulp Mill has been the big issue and the only 2 Liberal held seats going to Labour after Green Preferences so hopefully this will be enough to change the decision and get it stopped…
I believe as does a vast number of people that the next 3 years are going to put back the inequilties of the past, fix the problems and make our Country the Fair Go Capital in the World once More…
That to me is the essence of what the change will bring… and although we have high hopes with the change we have voted for there is a long road ahead, big promises made and big expectations lets hope this New Government can deliver what so many of us believe we need….
Your thoughts are welcome..

Fantastic to hear!

I've been looking for an Aussie blog to congratulate for getting rid of that Bush-butthole John Howard, and you're the lucky blog.

We still have another year before we'll be rid of Bush, and even though there's the possibility we'll get someone nearly as bad as him in charge, we're going to do the best we can.

I envy you guys because you get to start working on changing things very soon...we've got to wait until January 2009 before we'll be able to do anything, and who knows what will happen between now and then.

See ya around!

It's me again. I replied to your comment on my blog already.

Tomorrow morning (probably Wednesday, your time), I'm going to put up a post to encourage local bloggers to find Aussie blogs that wanted change so they can thank them.

Anything that puts more pressure on Bush to face the reality he created is a GOOD thing!

I was so thrilled at the news. I am interested to know if there are any positive developments coming regard the pulp mill in Tasmania. I read your posts on this, and I am aware of your concern.

G'Day there Staggo...
Welcome Back mate

The new Labour Government are at present keeping their word... they have released a 100 days bokklet which shows very transparently what they have acheived to date, where they are heading etc... to date they have ratified Kyoto, Lauched an anti whaling campaign against Japan, are filing legal action with in the whaling commission, moved very quickly on the Aboriginal problems and said Sorry.. so a nice change a Government Keeping its word...

With the Pulp Mill... Peter Garrett is being extremly thorough with what parts he is signing off on... there are many areas which are being looked at.. and I have the opinion he is looking for an out.. I hope so... there are protestor preparing to gather as soon as construction begins assuming it is .... they are even training them... I am following this very closely and as soon as any further developements occur I shall be posting it here...

All we can hope is that reason prevails....
